Retirement funds must stay in bank?

Thai Retirement Funds

Hi there. I am confused about the issue of the bank deposit for the retirement visa. For the retirement visa when can I withdraw the 800,000 THB if I have to?

Once you have obtained the visa, then you may withdraw and use the money. Just make sure to deposit it back into your savings account 3 months before the visa is due for renewal. This is a very common question in Thailand and this holds true for both the 1-year retirement visa and also the 1-year marriage visa.

Once the visa has been grated you can use the money however as stated before ensure that 3 months before your renewal is due that you have the money in your account again. If you have any questions about this then speak to the attorney when you make the visa extension application in Thailand.

Hi there, we are looking to retire to Thailand soon and I am wondering about buying/owning a property whilst living in Thailand on a retirement visa?. Is it possible?

I am working up to marry and retire to Thailand, my future wife works for the Thai Government.

My monthly retirement pension will be 50000 Thai Baht, I am looking at opening a Thai bank account and depositing £100000. savings and income.

I will be having my pensions paid in to my UK account and transferring them every 3 years as a lump sum £43788.

Will I be allowed to retire and live in Thailand?

I would like to retire in Thailand but I do not have bank account. Last year I tried to open to bank account but they did not allowed me and ask the visa. How to do please let me know.

Unfortunately, we do not have control over the rules of the bank in opening an account. However, if you have a monthly pension from your home country of at least 65,000 THB, you may also consider this financial requirement instead of the Thai bank account.

I normally put 800000 thb in my bank for my retirement visa. I am now married to a Thai girl. Do I have to put 800000 in the bank or is it 400000 thb now that I am married. Also can I use our joint bank account that has enough money in to present to immigration when visa is due or do have to have a separate account in my name only.

If your marriage is already registered legally in Thailand, then you may apply for the marriage visa. The financial requirement for this one is 400,000 baht and must be deposited in an account that’s solely under your name.
