Visa on Arrival from Laos

Laos

Hello, we have a visa question. We are still in Laos but want to go back to Bangkok soon. When we will cross the Thai border, we will just get a visa for 2 weeks for free. But we want to stay a time like 67 weeks in Thailand. Is there a possibility to get a tourist visa for 90 days in Bangkok, such as a visa on arrival? Or can we only get a tourist visa in an embassy outside Thailand?

You can only obtain a 60 day tourist visa at the Thai embassy outside Thailand. If you wish you may apply form the Thai embassy in Laos.

      Hello, Zar Nay.

You will need to check if the Embassy in Laos will accept your application for a Tourist Visa from foreign passport holders. If they do, you can then apply for a Tourist Visa and come to Thailand.

I am not quite clear whether I can obtain a visa on arrival at a land border crossing, given that as a Bulgarian passport holder I am entitled to such?

    Thanks in advance!

I am an Australian and my fiancee is a Thai national and we are returning to Thailand soon and I will be traveling on a 30 tourist visa without a return itinerary because I may have to return to Australia for a court hearing in regards to a worker’s compensation claim that I have lodged and I do not know what date the hearing will be or even if there will be a hearing, the insurance company may settle out of court. Will I have any problems entering Thailand without the return itinerary being booked?

You definitely do not need a visa to enter Thailand. You are visa exempted and you can stay up to 30 days without a visa. You just need to show proof of funds, accommodation, onward flight or travel (to other countries or to home country) and passport valid for at least 6 months. It is free of charge. If you do not have a return flight, you can explain to the officer at the airport that you will exit Thailand through land border within 30 days after arrival.
