What is Thailand Pass?
The Thailand Pass system is a free-of-charge web-based system designed to make the documentation process of travelers entering Thailand more efficient and faster. The Thai Pass QR code is required for all travelers entering Thailand.
The application will be approved by the central authorities in Thailand and not the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate. Therefore, please allow sufficient time for approval after registering for the Thailand Pass.
The goal of the system is to help support the country’s “Ease of Travel” system after it reopens and to expedite filling out information and uploading travel documents.
Required Documents for Travel to Thailand
Please have the following documents ready.
- Visa (if required)
- Buy Thailand Travel Insurance
- Flight Itinerary
- Hotel Booking Confirmation or Thailand Address
Incorrect documents will delay the entry screening to Thailand.
Travelers may join our Facebook Group to ask questions, get help and read the latest developments: https://www.facebook.com/groups/howtoenterthailand
Who Can Apply for the Thailand Pass
Thai Pass is required for all travelers entering Thailand, whether they be Thai nationals or foreigners.
From May 1, 2022, Thai Pass application and approval requirements will depend on a traveler’s vaccination status.
- Fully Vaccinated travelers will be able to enter Thailand under the No Quarantine program. A vaccinated traveler does not need to book 1 night’s accommodation in an approved SHA+ hotel or complete an RT-PCR test on arrival.Fully vaccinated foreigners will need to provide proof of COVID insurance and their vaccination certificate when applying for Thailand Pass. Thai Nationals only need to provide their vaccination certificate as insurance is not required. Unvaccinated children under 18 years old may travel with vaccinated parents without quarantine. The parents must include the children’s personal information in the application.
- Unvaccinated travelers will have 2 options for entering Thailand:
- Unvaccinated travelers will be able to enter Thailand under the existing 5-day Alternate Quarantine program; OR
- Unvaccinated travelers will be able to enter the No Quarantine program by completing an RT-PCR test and uploading the result into their Thai Pass application. The test cannot be older than 72 hours before their departure date.
What are the Requirements for the Thailand Pass
To support “Ease of Travel’, entry requirements have been eased from May 1, 2022. You can now apply with fewer documents and obtain a QR entry code faster.
The document requirements are listed below.
Vaccinated travelers (No Quarantine)
- Your passport profile page
- A certificate of full (2 doses) vaccination or vaccine card
- A medical insurance policy with at least USD$ 10,000 minimum coverage
Unvaccinated travelers (No Quarantine)
- Your passport profile page
- An RT-PCR test result no more than 72 hours before your departure date
- A medical insurance policy with at least USD$ 10,000 minimum coverage
Unvaccinated travelers doing Alternate Quarantine program
- Your passport profile page
- Confirmed booking of SHA+ hotel 5-day Alternate Quarantine package
- A pre-booked RT-PCR test on arrival (if not included in your package)
- A medical insurance policy with at least USD$ 10,000 minimum coverage
You must scan your passport or take a photo of your passport profile page similar to this example:
Proof of Vaccination
For vaccinated travelers entering under the No Quarantine program, you must prepare your vaccination certificate or card. The file must be in JPG, JPEG, or PNG.
For unvaccinated travelers who would like to enter Thailand under the No Quarantine program, instead of submitting a vaccination certificate or card, you must submit a negative result of the RT PCR COVID-19 test issued within 72 hours before traveling to Thailand.
The next step of the process is to book your flight to Thailand. Although it is not required to submit a proof of flight booking, the Thai Pass system will require the following information of your flight:
- Country of Departure
- Date of Arrival in Thailand
- Flight Number
- Estimated Exit Date from Thailand
Hotel Booking or Address in Thailand
The Thailand Pass system does not require travelers to provide a hotel booking as well. However, you will be required to provide an address in Thailand. If you will be staying in private accommodation you may provide the address.
For travelers staying in a hotel, we highly recommend using Agoda.com when booking your hotel:
- Bangkok Hotels: https://www.agoda.com/search?cid=1897011&city=9395
- Phuket Hotels: https://www.agoda.com/search?cid=1897011&city=16056

- Chiang Mai Hotels: https://www.agoda.com/search?cid=1897011&city=7401

How to Apply for Thailand Pass
The Thailand Pass System is a QR code generating system. To obtain a QR entry code or Thai Pass ID, travelers will have to:
- Register at the official web portal
- Input personal details
- Upload the required documents per their vaccination status
- Receive a confirmation email after registration (within seconds after registration)
- Wait for the approval (normally within 1-3 days)
And if approved, you will receive an email with your QR Entry Code or ID, which you will use upon entering Thailand.
1. Apply for Thailand Pass by Yourself
You may apply for the Thailand Pass directly on the MFA website: https://tp.consular.go.th/
If you have already applied by yourself and you need to check the status, please go to: https://tp.consular.go.th/en/check-status
If you already applied and you still did not get the QR code or you were rejected, please email: [email protected]
2. Thailand Pass Application Service by Siam Legal
Application for the Thailand Pass is free-of-charge and you do not need any assistance to apply for it. However, there may be instances where some individuals may voluntarily choose a paid service provider such as a law firm to provide consultation, assist them to prepare their documents, and submit them on their behalf.
Individuals may encounter problems with their documents that are not being uploaded properly or are deemed unacceptable to the Thai embassy or consulate. This may cause delays or rejection of your application, so it may be helpful to retain a service provider to assist you with the application. These paid Thailand Pass services offered by Siam Legal are listed below.
Step-by-Step Guide for Thailand Pass Application
Thailand has recently reopened the country to travelers, both Thais and foreigners whether vaccinated or unvaccinated. In this newsletter, you will learn about the Step-by-Step Process of Applying for a Thailand Pass.
Step 1: Visit the official website
You may go to the official website: https://tp.consular.go.th/
Once there, you may choose the option of Air Travel or Land Travel.
After that, you will be directed to a page where you can begin your registration:
When you begin the registration, you will be directed to the entry program which is No Quarantine:
No Quarantine program for fully vaccinated travelers entering any international airport or selected land borders in Thailand or unvaccinated who have RT PCR test results issued within 72 hours before departure to Thailand. Unvaccinated children below 18 years old must be added to their parent’s or guardian’s application.
Step 2: Details of your Arrival
In this part, you will provide the purpose of travel to Thailand whether for tourism or if you are a returning resident.
You will also provide your country of departure, airport of arrival, flight number, date of arrival.
Step 3. Provide your Personal Information
In this part, you will provide your full name as stated in your passport or travel document, nationality, passport number, date of birth, contact number, and email address. Please make sure that you check the correct spelling of your personal information before you proceed to the next step. Also in this part, children under the age of 18 years will be added to the parent or guardian.
Step 4. Upload Proof of Vaccination or RT PCR Test
In this part, you will provide your vaccination information. You will provide the name or brand of your latest vaccination. You will be able to upload a JPG or PNG file of your proof of vaccination.
For faster processing of your Thailand Pass, it is recommended to also upload the QR code of your vaccination document if it is available.
Note: If you are you are not fully vaccinated, you may upload a copy of your RT PCR or professional ATK test result in lieu of a vaccination certificate issued within 72 hours before departure.
Step 5: Provide Your Hotel Details or Address in Thailand
In this part, you will be required to provide the details of your address in Thailand or your hotel reservation.
If you are staying in a hotel, you can also validate your reservation if you booked through Agoda.com:
Step 6: Submit your Travel Insurance
In this part, you will provide the COVID 19 Insurance. You must upload the certificate of insurance. Based on experience, it is recommended to use AXA Thailand Insurance as it is the best insurance provider and they will issue a one-page document written specifically for your Thai Pass application.
Step 7: Review the Summary of your Thailand Pass Application
This is the last part of the application process. You will have a summary of your application. Please check all information that you have provided and if everything is correct, you may submit the application.
You will then receive your 6-digit access code which will appear on your screen and it will also be sent to your registered email.
How long does it take to Process the Thailand Pass
The processing time for the application is up to 2 hours depending on the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Disease Control office. There are instances when the registration will take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours. It is recommended to apply for the Thailand pass at least 2 days before your intended departure.
How to Check the Status of Your Application
To check the status of your Thailand Pass application, you may go to: https://tp.consular.go.th/en/check-status
If the status states ‘Reviewing’, it means you need to wait a day or two for the result.
If the status states ‘Approved’, you can download the file or save it on your mobile phone.
Once you have been approved, you can download your Thai Pass QR code or you will also receive it through email. For vaccinated travelers and their dependents, they may use the Thai Pass QR code within 3 days after the estimated arrival date in case of flight delays.
Take note that Thailand Pass is not a visa and it is not a permit to stay in Thailand. It is just a permit to enter Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recommended Thailand Pass Insurance
Based on experience, the common problem for the applications being rejected and travelers being denied boarding their flight is that some insurance policies are not properly worded.
Your COVID 19 insurance must expressly state that it covers up to $10,000 USD medical expenses, including COVID 19 related incidents, and it must cover your whole stay in Thailand.
The Thai Pass system only accepts one attachment therefore it is important to have a one-page Certificate of Insurance with all the required information. To purchase the most reliable insurance that has never had a problem with the Thai Embassy or airline, please click the link below:

Hello. Thai pass website only asks for 1st and 2nd dose. I have 3 Pfizer doses – last dose in December 2021. Should I add the latest vaccine certificate that includes all 3 doses in both the fields for 1st and 2nd dose on thai pass website? Also, same 3rd dose qr code from the latest certificate?
You can add your booster dose details while applying for Thailand Pass too! If the QR code is still the same, it is better.
I bought 2 separate flight tickets, one from Bangkok Airways from Cambodia to Bangkok, and another from Elal to Israel from Bangkok after 4 hours. Do you know if it will be possible for me to pick up my suitcase independently and then check in the next flight without all the bureaucracy of the Thai Pass? Do you know if it is possible? Or know what can be done?
Thank you so much for your help!

Good morning. I’m currently in Thailand but I will be leaving the 1st of May and be back in July 5th and I want to prepare everything for my return. Is it possible to get the Covid insurance as well as the Thai pass before leaving? Should I apply for a permit of re entry besides the Thai pass? Thank you.
Since the government is still consideration of cancelation of Test and Go in May, even though all the authorities are still being silent about their final decisions, you can apply for Thailand Pass at least 7 days before your flight in July. That will work better.
My friend had just recovered from Covid with a discharge memo given by Singapore Ministry of Heath. Can he still be able to travel to Bangkok on this friday if he is still covid positive? Will he be quarantine even tested positive during PCR that is conducted by the SHA plus hotel.
Hope to receive your reply soon
Hi Wei Ming,
In this case, your friend needs to inform the hotel beforehand with official documents as proof. The hotel can contact the hospital to be aware of your friend’s situation.
Most hotels have different policies regarding quarantines, please check with the hotel for accurate responses.
I have another question, what if mistakenly we have used wrong email address while applying for Thailand pass?
Should we open a new request? Would it be a problem? Please advise.
You should apply for a new Thailand Pass request. All confirmations and approval will be sent to your e-mail.
We have a situation that, we will arrive Phuket on 30th April and we have booked our hotel in Krabi and also they have booked the airport transfer and we have separately booked RTPCR test as well.
But when applying for Thailand pass under the booking ID of Hotel it says that Airport transfer and RTPCR is not included as Airport transfer has a different booking ID. So can we simply provide our documents/ receipts for relevant documents? Should that be fine?
Also as we have to book for Day 5 as well then also its asking for one Booking ID only? Please let us know.
That is alright. It won’t be a problem. Just make sure that you attach copy of the RT PCR test receipt in your application and make sure that your Krabi hotel has a copy of your RT PCR receipt. During the Thailand Pass application, it is only required to submit the Day 1 booking.
We will be coming to Thailand and going to Cambodia on the next day. So I am booking a Thailand Pass hotel for the day we come to Bangkok so that Next day we will go to Cambodia. Hi I’m travelling to chiang mai on 2nd May 2022.
For travaller who contracted covid within 60days prior to travel date is it required to do pcr test as well? As study show that though previous covid positive traveller has recovered and no longer contagious, there’ll be a chance that pcr test would detect as positive. Please advice.
Yes, you are still required to under go an RT PCR test. If you tested positive and the result is just a remnant of your previous infection and you have a proof of recovery, you will be released.
If the positive RT PCR test result concludes that it is a new COVID infection, you will be isolated.

I am a Thai Citizen travelling from Australia to Thailand to see my family, I’ll be accompanied by a Non Thai Citizen. We will be applying for the Test & Go. We are 2 adults(me and my wife) with 3 children under 18
why it’s not possible to apply once to the entire family?
first, I was applying for me and the children and I did not find the option to add my wife… so she had to apply for herself separately.
my question is if only one of us needs to fill in the details about our children or we had to do it twice. once for me and one for my wife’s application?
I fill the children’s details only in my application and my wife’s application was done only for her without the children’s deatales.
I hope it’s o.k….
Children under 18 are allowed to be traveled with legal guardians (which includes parents), so you could apply for your children with you. While your wife, who is an adult, had to apply individually.

Hello! We are travelling from SG to Phuket 5 days, followed by Phuket to Bangkok, and finally Bangkok back to SG. In the Thailand pass application, our arrival flight is from SG to phuket. Should the departure flight from phuket to Bangkok, or the flight out of Bangkok back to SG? Thank you.

Do I book the PCR tests separately and use the receipts or do I need to contact the hotel to sort out.
If you are arriving in Phuket, you do the booking at http://www.thailandpsas.com .
If you arrive in Bangkok or Samui, please call the hotel and ask them to book your RT PCR tests. You cannot book it separately.

I am looking to travel to Bangkok on the 4th of Feb. Will my Thai Pass be approved on time?
You can apply for Thailand Pass right now under Sandbox or Quarantine Program. If you are looking at getting a Test and Go Thailand Pass, you need to apply on February 1. It is a risk to take if you will travel on February 4th. But I think you have a good chance of receiving it on time if you have a complete set of documents in correct format and your vaccination document has acceptable QR code.
If I apply for the Sandbox one, can I change it to Test & Go when I land?
According to reports, the Thailand Pass is not retroactive. You will be allowed to enter and stay in Thailand based on the Thailand Pass that was issued to you or the Thailand Pass that you are holding when you land in Thailand.
I’m traveling from London to Bangkok and hope to arrive as soon as possible. As the Test & Go will resume on 1 Feb, on which day should I book the SHA Extra+ hotel? How long does it take for the application to process?

It is the same as other travelers. You can choose to re-enter Thailand under Test and Go, Sandbox or Quarantine Program. You just choose the option that is convenient for you.
Thank you for this forum. Very helpful. We are arriving Phuket on 31 January. We would like to go to Chiang Mai once we are able to. Can we depart Phuket for Chiang Mai on 7 February or we need to wait till 8 February? Thank you.
You can leave Phuket on February 7 if you arrived before 6PM of January 31 and you had your test on that date also. If you arrived after 6PM of January 31, you will leave Phuket February 8th.
I have original Thailand pass. Is it okay to use it for February 1st flight to Bangkok.
Yes you can, as long as you will arrive in Thailand 3 days before/after your original arrival date that is written in your Thailand Pass QR code.
Original date going to Phuket was on 25 Jan with thailand pass already on Jan 25th. Due to unfortunate circumstance, we were unable to proceed with the flight. Now, we already moved our flight to Feb 15th as well as the hotel and swab tests. I believe thailand pass is valid within 72hours only. Are we able to reapply for thailand pass after 72hrs with new details? Please advice.
Yes, that is correct. Your Thailand Pass is only valid for 72 hours from the original date of arrival. If you are still coming to Thailand under Sandbox, you can reapply for a new Thailand Pass right now. If you are planning to enter under Test and Go, please wait until February 1.
Hello does the passport picture need to be in color in order to apply for the Thai pass? Thank you
I suggest you to provide a colored copy or it should be clear copy of any documents you will upload, just to avoid rejection of your Thai Pass application.
Hi, I’ve booked flights and hotel to arrive in Phuket on 13th February 2022 (we’re departing from the UK on 12th February). At the moment I can’t apply for test and go now, but I understand this will be available from the 1st February. If I apply for the 7 day sandbox now, so that I’m in plenty of time to get it approved, will it automatically change to the test and go rules when the new test and go rules come into effect on 1st Feb 2022? Many Thanks
If you applied for the Sandbox Program now and got your approval, it will not automatically change into Test and Go by February, you must apply for a new application under the Test and Go Program. My suggestion is you must wait once the Test and Go Program will be open on the 1st of February.
Hi again Rex.
I have asked the following questions a few times without any reply:
Do I need to present a negative PCR test at the airport when I am leaving Bangkok ?
I do wonder why you are not replying ?
You have to follow the guidelines and measures announced by the respective country of your destination as well as your Airlines. This includes your certificate of vaccination and a negative RT-PCR test result. Please note that each Airlines has different requirement, and you should check these beforehand, to make sure you meet them.
I am fully vaccinated and i am planning to travel on 10 feb .
How long should I quarantine and can I apply for Thai pass on 01 feb?
Yes, you can apply a Thailand Pass under the Test and Go Program on 1st of February, this program is no quarantine but you have to show a proof payment for 2 separate nights of your accommodation at any government-approved hotels on Day 1 and Day 5.
How to registered theThailand pass
You may apply for the Thailand Pass directly on the MFA website: https://tp.consular.go.th/.
For more information you can visit this link: https://www.thaiembassy.com/travel-to-thailand/thailand-pass
Hi, my plane ticket to Thailand on February 4, if i apply thailand pass for Test and Go program on February1, can ı get it in 3 days?
Please take note that the processing time for the Thailand Pass application is 5 to 7 days depending on the Thai Embassy or Consulate where the application has been submitted. It is recommended to apply for the Thailand pass at least 7 days before your intended departure.
I asked for refund for pcr test (January 22) when can I have my money back?
Please log in to your account at https://www.thailandpsas.com/ and you can check the status of your refund request.
Hello Rex! The airline cancelled our flight arriving on 31st Jan, our Thai Pass entry is valid for entry on 31st Jan. Can we change the arrival date to 29 Jan or 3 Feb? Kindly advise, thank you.
You can scan your Thailand Pass QR code and it will state the latest date you can enter Thailand under the same Thailand Pass.
thank you for quick replayed 🙏
Do l have to send for pass code 7 days before if l wait until 1 st february l can take test and go but my flight is 5th of feb so l have to aply 4 days before my flight is there any problem for 3 days delay and another guestion can l take first test in Bankong and flight to koh pangan
and 5. day test at the Koh phangan
You need to wait for February 1, 2022 at 9AM Thailand time to apply for the Test and Go Program. You can apply on https://tp.consular.go.th/
If you will fly on February 5, 2022 I think you have time to get the Thailand Pass.
Kindly advise do we have to stay in the same hotel when we are doing our Test and Go on Day 1 and Day 5 ?
You can book different hotels. You can also have the Day 1 test in Bangkok and Day 5 test in another city such as Pattaya or Chiang Mai as long as the hotel you booked in that city has arranged the RT PCR test.
We are due to fly to Phuket soon on a sandbox entry. If our pre-flight PCR test is positive and we have to postpone our plans, will the Thai Govt accept a doctors letter to say we have recovered? Or do we have to wait for a negative PCR test to re-book? I’ve heard you can test positive for a while after recovery.
According to the official Thailand Pass website: https://tp.consular.go.th/en/plan
“If RT-PCR result is positive or detected then medical certificate proof of COVID recovery at least 14 days but less than 90 days from onset or first date of detection is required”. I am not sure how will the airline handle this situation. It is best to check with your airline.
We just booked an international flight to phuket with a transit in bangkok. The domestic flight from bangkok to phuket is operated by bangkok airways and the flight number is PG5279 (03.02.2022, 17:10 – 19:15).
We also booked a 7 night stay at the SHA-extra+ “Krabi Heritage Hotel” in the Krabi sandbox. Furthermore we booked the transit from Phuket airport to the hotel and the 2 necessary RT-PCR-Tests (1 on arrival and one on day 5-6).
Now the question: We just tried to register for the ThailandPass and recognized that we can not choose our booked hotel. I think because we tried to register the Survanabhumi (BKK) airport as the first arrival port in Thailand. In that way we are only able to choose hotels in the Samui sandbox. How can we register in the right way? Because a domestic flight to Phuket international airport is allowed, when its the flight number PG5279, right? So we should be able to choose our hotel during the registration for the Thailand sandbox.
Another short question: Should we type in the international flight number to Bangkok in the registration for ThailandPass (first arrival port in Thailand) or the domestic flight to Phuket (PG5279)?
Thank you really much, we hope that you can help us!
The sealed flight from BKK to Phuket will officially start on February 1 therefore it will come into the system on that day. Another option, you can register now, but use Phuket as airport of arrival and use PG5279 as flight number.
Hoping you can help. I am flying from the UK to Phuket with a 2 hr layover in Dubai, when completing my Thais pass information should I include my Dubai to Phuket flight number?
When you fill out the form for the Thailand Pass, you will state only the flight that will land in Phuket from Dubai which is the same flight number indicated in your RT PCR test receipt.
do you need to book a hotel for your second covid test under the new test and go
Yes, because you need to stay in your Test and Go hotel room while you wait for the test result of your COVID test.
Dear Sirs, could you please assist me?
I have found a list of test and go SHA+ hotels in Bangkok for day 1,
Where airport transfers and PCR tests are included in the booking/price
of the hotel.
However, I am having trouble locating a test and go SHA+ hotel in
the province of Chanthaburi, (where my family live,) where PCR tests are included in the booking for day 5.
I have even checked hotels which are SHA+ in Pattaya, they also don’t
Include PCR tests in with the booking.
Would you have a list of hotels in both provinces that do PCR tests with the hotel booking?
Since these hotels are working with a local hospital their Test and Go package is not listed on Booking.com or Agoda.com It is recommended for you to contact or book directly with the hotel.
I bought plane ticket to bankong on 5 th feb do l need 7 days quarentine
Or just 1 day test and go l m comıng from Turkey to go koh pangan.
If you apply for the Thailand Pass right now, you need to have 7 Days Quarantine in Bangkok before you can go to other parts of Thailand. Or you can wait and apply on February 1, you can book for the Test and Go program.
my ThaiPass is valid from 22.01 but due to interconecting flight changes I will enter Phuket on 23.01. Please advise if there will be any issue with the different date of entry?
Please scan your Thailand Pass QR Code and it will tell you the MUST ARRIVE IN THAILAND NOT LATER THAN DATE.
Hello is it possible to move from one SHA+ hotel to another during first 7 days? If yes how to proof it while making Thailand pass?
From what i see you can apply only one document of your hotel reservation.
Thank you for your time.
Travelers to Krabi, Phang-Nga, or Phuket can change accommodation twice within the first 7 days (can book 2 different hotels) within the province.
Travelers to Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao can change accommodation three times within the first 7 days (can book 3 different hotels). But they must stay the first night on Ko Samui and must receive a negative result for their first RT-PCR test, before being able to change accommodation to other hotels on either Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan or Ko Tao. Or they can choose to book 3 different hotels on Ko Samui alone.
For convenience in applying for Thailand Pass, just book one hotel for the whole 7 nights.
Thai pass has been refused because of hotel confirmation for quarantine. 3 people booked into one room but confirmation doesn’t state their names just the person that booked. Any help
You need to contact the hotel and ask them to enumerate all the names of the applicants in the Hotel Confirmation Letter.
I can see that package 1 assists US, UK and Canada citizens
Package 2 assists Thai and foreign nationals
Is there a package to assist an Australian? I need a Thailand pass. Is the program still suspended or can I apply for Test and Go?
Australians are foreign nationals. You may retain our service for Thailand Pass 100 USD fee. At the moment, the Thailand Pass available is Sandbox and Quarantine.
Hi, I was just wondering if we stay longer than the dates stated on the Thailand pass do we have to re apply?
There is no need to reapply. Once you are inside Thailand, you only need to make sure that your entry visa or entry stamp is updated and not overstay. if you need to stay longer, you can visit the local immigration office to extend your stay.
My flight is from Australia to Phuket for 8nights and I already booked a PCR test for arrivel in Phuket airport so do I need a pre-test COVID for arrive is Phuket if so are you accepting rapid test which is doing in Australia airport before flight ?
You need to print your Thailand Pass QR code and you are required to have a negative result of your COVID 19 RT PCR test taken within 72 hrs before the flight. It must be an RT PCR test as required by airlines and by Thailand government.
I am arriving in Phuket on January 22.
I had a Thailand Pass for Jan 5 under test and go but had to change flights.
Will test and go be available for entry on 22Januaryv2022
If you actually scan your Thailand Pass QR code, it states MUST ENTER NOT LATER THAN January 8. So that means, you must get a new Thailand Pass.
The Phuket Sandbox would be fantastic but many airlines and countries do not have direct flights to Phuket. Thai government please be practical and set up a transit lounge at BKK to allow a greater range of tourists to utilize the Phuket Sandbox!
You can travel to Phuket via Singapore, Qatar, UAE or even some cities in Europe.
I saw that proof of 2 pre-paid COVID PCR tests on days 0 – 1 and 5 – 6 is a requirement for getting a Thai Pass. I am trying to get a Thai Pass to enter Phuket. There is NO information anywhere on HOW to pre-pay for the PCR tests. How do I do that? Thanks.
For the RT PCR tests in Phuket, please go to http://www.thailandpsas.com and pay for the tests. You must download the receipt which you will use for the Thailand Pass application.
My flight got canceled arriving to Bangkok on Jan 27th. Thailand Pass arrival date is Jan 27. Can I use my Thailand Pass before that date? Just wondering as I’m trying to rebook. Thanks
You can use it up to 3 days after the original date of arrival. if you scan the QR code, it will tell you the “ENTER NOT LATER THAN” date.
Hi I got my pass expired ,just for 3 days , I did not know it had an expiry so soon… do I need to apply and pay again for me and my boyfriend? or is there anyway they can change the dates on the passes . thank you
The Thailand Pass is valid for the date of arrival stated in the Thailand Pass. In case of flight delay or cancellation, you can still use it up to 3 days after the original date of arrival.
After that, if your new flight is beyond the 3 days time allowance, you must apply for new Thailand Pass.
This is quite urgent as we already booked half of our tickets to Thailand.
We are Vietnamese citizens traveling from Europe to Thailand on 18th of January.
We will bring along with us PCR test and fully vaccinated paper.
Do we need to undergo 7 day quarantine or can we take the test upon arrival and stay in SHA+ hotel for one night?
Thank you so much and awaiting for your answer.
If you have been approved for the Test and Go Thailand Pass, yes, you can definitely use it for your trip and stay for 1 night in quarantine. If you have not applied for Thailand Pass at all, then you have to apply under Quarantine Program of 7 nights.
Hi! I need urgent information, does Montenegro citizens needs pcr test for leaving Phuket? If they have flight to Serbia, via Doha.
(Entered Phuket via Sandbox 10 days ago)
Thank you in advance!
You may need a test for your Doha transit. Please check with your airline.
Hi I am Malaysia citizen would like to travel to krabi for holiday. My estimated stay will be 20 days (include 7 days quarantine). Do i need a visa? or only Thailand Pass (Phuket Sandbox) is sufficient?
Malaysian citizens are visa exempted for 30 days but you need to register for Thailand Pass to enter Phuket Sandbox.
I am required to fly to Phuket for the Phuket Sandbox. Does my return flight back to the UK also have to be from Phuket – or can it be from Bangkok to UK?
You can have an exit flight from Bangkok to the UK. Just bear in mean that you can travel to Bangkok only after you have spent 7 nights in Phuket.
Hi, If I travel to Thailand for now how many days or night do I need to been quarantine at ASQ hotel?
If you are vaccinated arriving in Bangkok, it will be 7 nights quarantine. If you are vaccinated arriving in Phuket, it will be 7 nights without quarantine.
If you are unvaccinated, you will quarantine for 10 nights.
If you are coming from Africa, you will quarantine for 14 nights.
I m trying to get the pass for the first option it’s not working. Is the website down?
The option 1 or Test and Go option is currently suspended for new applicants. The program is still ongoing for those who already got approved. But it is closed for new applicants.
Is Thai Pass a single entry? Can I re-enter after visiting to Cambodia for 3 days?
Dear H Nguyen,
The Thai Pass is only valid for arrival stated in the QR code. If you will travel to Cambodia and return to Thailand, you will apply for a new Thailand Pass.
I have been approved under the Test & Go and received my Thai-pass. I am required to obtain a negative RT-PCR 72 hours before travel. Will a Rapid Antigen Test also work (results given the same day). There is a backlog of RT_PCR tests here in the USA and I may not received the results of the RT-PCR test 72 hours prior to my fight departure.
The requirement is RT PCR test. I recommend for you to go to a bigger city with more options of clinic where you can have your RT PCR test.
Apart from the Phuket Sandbox, are the other Sandbox destinations listed here still open?
At the moment only Phuket Sandbox is open for Thailand Pass application.
I am originally booked to land in Bangkok on 16/01/2022. I do not have Thai Pass as i understood that you needed to apply for the pass 14 days before arrival. Anyhow, my question is, Can i continue with my journey to Bangkok but get on a flight to Phuket without leaving the Airport and avail of the Phuket Sandbox program? meaning can i make my arrival in Bangkok Airport a transit visit but never leave airport and continue straight to Phuket? This will be a different airline provider to my initial one.
If you would like to apply for Thailand Pass under Phuket Sandbox program, your flight to Phuket must not stop in Bangkok. You can get a flight to Phuket with transit in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Helsinki or Singapore.
Our flight has cancelled on 8th January. Can we arrive other flight at 9th January and use our test and go pass. (In pass arrival date is 8th January)
When you scan your QR code, it will show you that you can arrive to Thailand within 3 days from the original date of arrival.
The [email protected] seems to be for IT problems, sending messages to it regarding your application, does not work. It seems you have to re-apply for every change to your application, this must be causing a lot of churn.
Calling the help line +66 2 572 8422, will involve a long wait, and your call may drop out before you get through. The other numbers +66 65 205 4247 etc. do not work.
For rejected application, please email [email protected] or [email protected]
If I travel to Thailand for now How many days do I need to stay in Phuket sandbox program?
You are required to stay for 10 days in the Phuket Sandbox Program and are free to move around that area.
I just want to double check for my trip to Bangkok. My scheduled to visit on 24/12/21 and I already got Thailand pass with QR code. So can i still go for ASQ hotel with one night test and go. So do I need to follow this quarantine law or not?
Travelers who have received their Thailand Pass QR Code can still enter Thailand under the date of arrival and program they have been approved for.
I have been approved for the Thailand pass system and am scheduled to visit on 2/6/22. based on this new information, will i be required to quarantine for the 7-10 days? or is it only for those that have not been approved for the thai pass yet? I am confused with the way this information is presented. any help will be appreciated!
For those who have already been approved under the Test & Go or Sandbox program, the Thailand Pass QR Code remains valid for travel into Thailand.
just to double check we have received our Thailand Pass Test and Go QR codes on 23 November 2021 for travel into Thailand on 24th December 2021 from Australia. Can we still enter without quarantine (understand we will need to undergo one night under the Test and Go system) and we able to move freely through Thailand after that night?
For travelers who have already been approved under the Test & Go or Sandbox program, the QR Code remains valid for travel into Thailand.
AR we are in the same boat as you- I am feeling like the answers are a bit vague. We have our Thai passes and need to know if we will have to quarantine beyond the 24 hrs until that pcr comes back.
If the PCR test comes back later than 24 hours, you will have to stay at your hotel later than 24 hours.
Hello. We have made all bookings for our family to stay in Bangkok. The hotel was booked from December 30 to January 6. What should I do now?
For travelers who have already been approved under the Test & Go or Sandbox program, the QR Code remains valid for travel into Thailand.
I was about to obtain my boarding pass as I have my Thailand Pass for Dec 28th through Jan 5th. The Airline would not allow me to receive my boarding pass because I was flying to BKK then to Phuket. This was approved on my Thailand Pass, but they said Thai govt would not allow me to fly from BKK to Phuket.
Now I’m trying to get another flight but it will be an arrival now for Dec 30th. Will my Thailand Pass still be good?
Yes, you can use the same Thailand Pass as long as you enter Thailand on the date stated in the Thailand Pass.
hello send the form 2 me after closing ! our plane leaves on the 23rd to the 13th in the afternoon and we are worried because we still haven’t received any news from the QR code
Please email [email protected] to follow-up your application.
Hi can you please clarify this point – ‘Passengers who arrive in Thailand under Test & Go / Sandbox must undergo their 2nd Covid test at Govt designated facilities (no additional cost)’
I have had my Thai Pass approved, and have paid for my test upon arrival at Phuket airport, but just wondering if this means I need to do another test, or whether this original test I booked should have been free?
The 6th or 7th Day COVID test is free. The test on arrival is not free.
I am due to travel to Bangkok on 8 Feb 2022…am I still able to apply for the test and go tonight or is my journey too far in advance?
No need to apply tonight, a lot of changes will happen in January 2022.
