    Hi
Looking to fly to Phuket from Singapore in June. Am I right to say we need to pre-book our on arrival pcr tests in Phuket at https://www.thailandpsas.com/ . Is the tests going to be done in Phuket Airport? We are looking to rent a car in Airport, so can we rent and drive to our Sha EXtra + hotel on Day 1 while waiting for the PCR result?

    • March 9, 2022

      Dear Eliss,

      Good day.
Yes you are correct. You can book it on http://www.thailandpsas.com and you will take the test at Phuket airport. We recommend that you book your airport transfer from airport to the hotel using the hotel’s airport transfer service also to make sure that the airport transfer is also SHA+ certified car.

    Dear Officer,

By referring to the flight itinerary below… We both are fully vaccinated, travelling from Australia. I purchased the below tickets with Singapore Airlines, (transit in Phuket for 2hours 40mins) before proceeding to Ko Samui, under the Ko Samui sandbox conditions, do I still need PCR Test at Phuket? Or we just have to pre-booked the PCR Test at the SHA Hotel in Ko Samui on the first day of arrival?

    Hi,

Do you need the Thailand Pass and a visa seperately to enter Thailand?

    Thank you

    • February 28, 2022

      Dear Jimmy,

Thailand Pass is not a visa. Thailand Pass is a permit to enter Thailand under No Quarantine or Quarantine Program. If your nationality requires a Thai visa, you need to apply for a Thai visa from the embassy and Thailand Pass separately. If you are a national of countries under visa exemption, you do not need to apply for a visa, you only need to apply for Thailand Pass.

      Thank you.

    • February 18, 2022

      Dear Jan,

Yes, you can stay in Phuket for 5-7 days but you only need to have two COVID tests. If you will stay less than 5 days, you only need to do 1 COVID test.
When applying for Thailand Pass, you need to submit an exit flight.

      Dear Kaye,

      Good day.
If you have and email with attached Thailand Pass QR code, your application is successful. There are instances that the online status is “unregistered” but it will be different when you open it on another computer. Just print out the Thailand Pass QR code that was sent to you by email You can also try to scan the QR to know what is the latest date you can arrive in Thailand.

    • January 18, 2022

      Dear Megan,

      Good day.
It will be up to the Health Officer if you will be considered as close contact or not. If you are not close contact, then it is not a problem if you tested negative upon arrival. If you are advised to isolate, you can check if you can isolate in the same hotel that you booked for.

      Dear Tony,

For the Sandbox stay, right now if you arrive in Phuket (no stop in Bangkok), the first test will be conducted at the airport and the second test (Day 5) will be in a chosen swab center. Coming from Netherlands, I suggest for you to fly via Dubai or Doha to Phuket and avoid Bangkok at any cost (you will be quarantine for 7 nights if you do so).

I have registered an application for the Phuket Sandbox Programme travelling from the UK and have not yet received approval. My flight is in 2 days and I’m quite worried that it will not be approved in time. I have sent an email and also tried to the contact numbers but haven’t had a response or anyone answer my call.

It is only 3 days since I made the application. I had to leave it quite late to put in my application as I had to book flights etc first and with things changing daily due to covid restrictions I wanted to make sure that I could travel.

I am organizing a trip to Phuket for nine golfers in February 2022. We will be staying at Blue Canyon Golf Club, which I understand is a SHA+ hotel. Each guest will be staying at least 7 nights. 6-8 of the guests will be from the US, and several of us have flights that transit through Bangkok. As I read the instructions, we would not be able to travel to Phuket unless we change our flights to fly directly from an international airport directly to Phuket. Is this correct?

    • November 18, 2021

      Hi William,

Yes that is correct. You must stay for 7 nights at your first port of arrival in Thailand before you are permitted to travel to your final destination.

    • November 10, 2021

      Hi Charles,

There are currently no restrictions for traveling in Thailand, however, if you have just came from overseas, you are required to quarantine at your first port of entry in Thailand before you are allowed to travel to your final destination. For example, if your flights lands in Phuket, you must quarantine there before you can go to Bangkok.

      Thank you.

Unvaccinated travelers who are coming to Phuket from abroad are not entering under Phuket Sandbox. They will enter under Quarantine Program. The quarantine requirement is 10 nights in a quarantine hotel. It means they can only stay inside their rooms and not allowed to go out for 10 nights. You can go to the balcony if your room has one.

    Hello
Me and my family, incl. 2 children, are hoping to travel to Thailand this winter. The children are still too you for vaccination, but according the current travel regulations, they are allowed to enter with vaccinated adults. So far so good 🙂

However, we have an important questions I am struggeling to find a good information to. What will then happen if one of our children would test positive during our visit? Off course, considering mild symptoms not requiring any medical treatment. Unofficial information claims they need to be isolated at a hospital for 14 days, no matter if they have symptoms or not or if they test negative before the 14 days have passed.

Thank you very much in advance for clarifying this.

    • October 6, 2021

      Dear Eric,

      Good day.
If one of the travelers tested positive you need to be isolated. The person who tested positive will stay in quarantine room if there are no symptoms. If the person has any symptoms that needs medical attention, he or she will be transferred to a hospital. Aside from the person who tested positive, the persons such as the family who had close contact will be isolated or quarantines also in a hotel room at your own expense.

      Thank you.

If I am travelling with my wife and two daughters, can we all stay in same accommodation? And will the accommodation charges be per room or per person?

      Dear Mihir,

      Good day.
Yes, you can book for a family room at your preferred quarantine hotel if arriving in Bangkok or sandbox hotel if you arrive in Phuket. For the Phuket Sandbox, the adult parents must be fully vaccinated to avail the sandbox program.

      Thank you/

      Dear John,

      Good day.
If your nationality is under visa exemption and you plan to stay less than 30 days in Thailand, you can directly apply for COE and choose Visa Exemption for the permitted persons category. If your nationality needs a Thai visa or you wish to stay long than 30 days, you need to apply for the Thai Visa from Thai Embassy first and after that you may apply for the COE based on the category of your visa. You do not need Fit to Fly certificate anymore, you only need the test result of COVID 19 RT CPR test. Should you need any assistance for the COE, please let us know or visit http://www.siam-legal.com/coe

      Thank you.

Do I need to book a return flight to Phuket or can I get a single ticket ?

    • October 5, 2021

      Dear Paul,

      Good day.
For the Phuket Sandbox or any COE application, if you do not have a visa and you only wish to use the visa exemption, you need to show an exit flight. So that the embassy can check and verify that your stay in Thailand is covered by your insurance. At this time, the visa exemption is back to 30 days, so you need to show an exit flight within 30 days upon arrival.

      Thank you.

How to apply for refund of 3rd PCR test that is no longer necessary? There was a phone number posted at airport yesterday but I failed to get it.

    • October 5, 2021

      Dear James,

      Good day.
When you arrive at the Phuket Airport, you may ask the staff from Thailand PSAS about the refund of your third COVID test. You may also request it when you do your second COVID test at the testing center.

      Thank you.

    Hi!
When arriving in Phuket, do I need to stay the 7 nights in the same hotel or is allowed to move within the province (i.ex: Koh Phi Phi, Krabi)?
    Thank you!!!

      Dear Ricardo,

      Good day.
You can land in Phuket airport and directly travel to Koh Phi Phi. You need to stay in an SHA+ Hotel and your airport to Phi Phi transfer must be arranged in advance also.

      Thank you.
