    Hi Rex,

I am Canadian. I plan to do the 7 day Sandbox in Phuket, and I would like to spend 40 days in Thailand. The 30 day regular visa was raised to 45 a while ago because of the quarantine time. Is this still the case?

    • October 5, 2021

      Dear Bruce,

      Good day.
The visa exemption has been reverted to 30 days. If you are staying for 40 days you have two options. First you can apply for the 60-day from the Thai Embassy and after that you may apply for the COE. Second option, you may use the 30-day visa exemption and apply for the COE under that category. Once you are already in Thailand, you may extend the visa exemption for additional 30 days at the local immigration office. Should you need assistance for the COE application, please visit http://www.siam-legal.com/coe

      Thank you.

Hi if I am from Ireland and am fully vaccinated but travel to the UAE for 8 days and Tanzania for 14 days am I still eligible for Phuket sandbox if all countries are now applicable. Does the 21 days still apply.

    • October 5, 2021

      Dear Jess,

The COE requirement for the Phuket Sandbox will depend on the Thai Embassy in in the country where you will take your flight to Thailand. If your flight is UAE to Phuket, the Thai Consulate in Dubai requires 21 days stay in UAE before they approve the COE. I would recommend that you stay in one country prior to coming to Thailand or check with the local Thai Embassy or Consulate if they will still require this or not.

      Thank you.

I’m arriving to Bangkok on the 1st of November from Doha, and then I have another flight (change of carrier) connecting to Phuket, where I’ll stay at a SHA+ hotel to do the 7 day quarantine. Is this permitted ?

    • October 4, 2021

      Dear Ricardo,

      Good day.
As of today October 4, 2021 this flight arrangement is not allowed for Phuket Sandbox. You should book Doha to Phuket flight such as Qatar Airways QR840 flight.

    • October 4, 2021

      Dear Jenifer,

      Good day.
The main requirement of Phuket Sandbox is no stop in Bangkok. You can book flight to Phuket via Dubai, Doha, Singapore, Abu Dhabi or even Hong Kong. If you travel to Bangkok, you will be subject to 7 nights quarantine in a Bangkok Quarantine Hotel before you can fly to Phuket.

      Thank you.

    • November 5, 2021

      Hi Jenifer,

If your first destination in Thailand is Bangkok, you are required to quarantine or do Test&Go in Bangkok before you can travel to your final destination.

However, you must spend one night at an AQ/SHA+ hotel to await your RT-PCR test after you’ve arrived. If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be required to quarantine for 10 nights.

These are Ko Phi Phi, Ko Ngai and Railay in Krabi; Khao Lak and Ko Yao in Phang-Nga, and Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao in Surat Thani. Attached for your guidance,

      Hi Varsha,

India is now on the list of low-risk countries that are exempted from quarantine when traveling to Thailand from 1 November 2021. If you have spent 21 consecutive days in these countries and are fully vaccinated for Covid-19, you only have to stay at an AQ/SHA+ hotel to await your RT-PCR test results upon arrival to Thailand. All non-vaccinated travelers are required to quarantine for 10 nights. Keep in mind that if your first destination in Thailand is Phuket, you will have to quarantine in Phuket before you are permitted to travel to Krabi.

      Thank you.

No, if your flight starts in Russia, the whole itinerary must be in the same booking or ticket. The Thai Embassy in Moscow will not issue the COE under Phuket Sandbox if your give 2 separate booking for the flight.

Thai Embassy in Nepal cannot issue a COE under Phuket Sandbox. They can only issue COE under Bangkok Quarantine program. If you decide to return to Israel, you must have been in Israel (or other eligible country) for 21 days or more before you can apply for the COE under Phuket Sandbox.

To summarize, since India is not a part of the Phuket sandbox right now, even if the 2 of us are fully vaccinated, we have to come to Bangkok, spend 15 days in quarantine at a designated hotel, and then go elsewhere in Thailand. Is my understanding correct?

Also, Any chance of India getting included in the sandbox countries in the near future? We’re planning the honeymoon in December.

Hello, it looks like the Phuket sandbox is only available for UK/US/Canadians coming from their respective countries? I’m a Canadian Passport holder living in Japan, does this mean I cannot take advantage of the Phuket sandbox?

    Thank You!

      Dear GT,

      Good Day!
You are looking at the wrong package of our service. The service for UK, US and Canada are for visa sticker application. For the COE only application, we can assist you. Japan is included in the CCSA-approved country allowed enter in Sandbox programme. Therefore you can travel to Thailand without quarantine as long as you will enter through Phuket or Samui and you are fully vaccinated. If you enter through Bangkok, you must quarantine for 7 days. Should you require any assistance in applying for the COE or certificate of entry, please check this page:
      https://www.siam-legal.com/other-services/certificate-of-entry-thailand.php

      Thank you.

Good day! We are planning to travel to BKK this year, we are fully vaccinated from the Philippines. Are we not allowed to travel there without quarantine? Thanks in advance. Are vaccines are Sinovac and AstraZeneca.

    • September 27, 2021

      Dear Anna,

      Good day!
The Philippines is a high risk country therefore you are not eligible for the Sandbox programs. You can still travel to Thailand but you need to be quarantined for 7 days and after quarantine you can travel anywhere in Thailand.

      Thank you.

Hi, I am British national, living and working in Saudi Arabia as expat. I was planning to travel to Thailand in October for the period of 4 weeks. Can I apply to COE from Saudi and come to Thailand? (Via Qatar)?
    Thank you

    • September 9, 2021

      Dear Rustam,
      Good day.
Yes, you can definitely apply for COE in Saudi and travel to Bangkok from Qatar. You will only qualify for the Quarantine Entry program and you must quarantine in Bangkok. The Thai Embassy in Saudi Arabia has no power to issue a COE under Phuket Sandbox even if you are fully vaccinated.
Should you require any assistance in applying for the COE or certificate of entry, please check this page:

How many PCR tests do i need to take now in Thailand? What days do i need to take them?

    • September 16, 2021

      Dear Dmitry,
      Good Day!
You need to do one RT PCR test within 72 hours before your flight to Thailand. And in Phuket, you have to do RT PCR tests on Day 1, Day 6 and Day 12 if you stay for 2 weeks in Phuket or more.
      Thank you.

    Good day,
I see it says we can stay less than 14 days but will there be a problem staying just 5 days in Phuket? We plan to fly directly back out to the US. Also on which days do I need to have covid tests if I do only stay 5 days?
    Thank you for your help,
    Shego

    • September 20, 2021

      Dear Shego,
      Good Day!
Yes, you can stay in Phuket for 5 days as long as you are going to leave Thailand after 5 days. Your flight must fly from Phuket to another country. You are not allowed to have stopover in Bangkok.

I am planning to visit Phuket from Taiwan.

Can you please share the vaccine list which approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health or the World Health Organisation (WHO)?

I would like to see if “Medigen” is included in the approval list.

    Many thanks.

    • September 16, 2021

      Dear Peter,
      Good Day!
For now, I do not see Medigen on the list of vaccines on the COE application portal. May I ask what is the company producing this vaccine?
      Thank you.

When will Mexico be added to the list?
And is it possible to go to Mexico and then USA for 14 days then fly to sandbox program for thai national and thai foreign residents?

      Dear RP,
      Good day.
You need to be in the USA for 21 days before you can travel to Thailand under Phuket Sandbox. If you do not wish to stay for 21 days in the US, the itinerary that is allowed is Thailand-USA-Phuket.
      Thank you.
